  1. Big Data is used in many ways in retail, such as to predict and understand better consumer behavior. “The power of habit’ textbook cited Target´s experience when using Big Data combined with IA to predict consumer behavior in a way that we could not imagine a few years ago.
I believe Big Data can help oranizations to figure out how to create value for customers through the understanding of customer preferences and needs, which can reduce inventory, costs reductions for companies, and increase product´s optimization based on individual preferences.

    1. Excellent comment, Augusto.

In the past, a lot of decisions in retail were based on feelings/assumptions/perceptions or based on limited data.

With Big Data it is possible to validate all these assumptions and come up with new solutions in the way products are positioned in a store to generate revenue increase, for example. Besides a lot of additional factors as you mentioned.

  2. I love this subject, I do postgraduate in Big Data and Marketing Intelligence, 🙂
So nowadays we have a lot of data but generally we do not know how to use the right way and put into practice the insights of this data. Companies who understand the importance of Big Data will always have a competitive advantage

    1. Absolutely, Sarah.

Some years ago one of my clients was a credit card company. I was amazing the amount of data these companies gather.

However, it was really hard to work with really large databases.

Let’s see what technology brings in translating data into quick and accurate information for decision-making.

  3. Hi Everyone,

Interesting video, big data is awesome to help us, not only in a specific sector but in all sectors across the world, think kind of tech has a massive potential to reduce cost, create new jobs and with this reduce many jobs as well, but it´s unquestionable which it´s has incredible veracity in undergoing information for all us, now, about the trustworthiness is very difficult because in my book has many hackers nowadays, it´s making very difficult for all we have trust in tecnologies, anyway, day by day the world is revolutionizing and we should live with it.

Have a nice day for all.

    1. Very nice answer, Matheus.

      Just some minor details:

      – …this kind of tech (instead of “think”)
      – it’s unquestionable that is has an incredible amount of information for all of us.

      – Try to separate more the sentences, so it’ll be easier for the reader to absorb the content. For example:

      …information for all of us.

Now, about trustworthiness, it is very difficult
(use the punctuation and skip a line).

      1. Hi Augusto,

I understood, sometimes I made some mistakes, I´m trying to reduce it, anyway, thank you for all support that you give to me.

        Have a nice Wednesday!
